CGS Marble Bed Gas Absorbers

Our CGS TURBUBED™ABSORBER utilizes a turbulent bed of marbles to achieve simultaneous dust and gaseous pollutant removal and achieve the highest efficiency. The number of beds is selected based on your efficiency requirements; Each bed is furnished with drain spouts utilizing rubber check valves for draining the scrub liquor back into the bottom of the unit. Unlike any conventional packed bed absorber, CGS' TURBUBED absorber is capable of handling gases containing particulate matter without plugging problems. The turbulent marble bed is self cleaning.

The pollutant laden gas enters the unit radially near the bottom and is directed upwards through each bed. Scrub liquor is sprayed from the bottom utilizing large orifice, low pressure nozzles. The height of the marble bed and liquid levels are designed based on the required performance. The liquid level can easily be altered by adjusting the height of the drain spouts. Intimate contact between the liquid and the gas takes place in this area under a controlled flooding condition, resulting in the absorption of the pollutants into the scrub liquor. The cleaned gas passes through a mist eliminator, which removes most of its entrained liquid droplets, before exiting the unit. The scrub liquor flows to the integral or external sump and is recycled, in part or in whole, back to the tower.
